Shenxi Machinery Group Co., Ltd. is already a household name in China's aerial work platform (AWP) machinery industry. However, the company's value extends far beyond producing high-quality suspended platforms and hoists. As the only approved vocational skills assessment station for AWP machinery in China's suspended platform industry, Shenxi Machinery is deeply rooted in the fertile ground of high-quality industry development through a systematic talent training system and leading the formulation of national standards.
1. The Benchmark Value of the Only Assessment Station
In 2016, with the approval of the China Construction Machinery Industry Association, Shenxi Machinery established the only "Vocational Skills Assessment Station for AWP Machinery" in China. Over the past eight years, the station has provided the industry with over 3,000 certified operators and maintenance technicians, serving more than 200 enterprises and construction units in 27 provinces, municipalities, and autonomous regions, and establishing a full-chain management system of "training-assessment-certification-re-review."
"We assess the safety baseline of the entire industry," explained the head of the training center. Trainees undergo rigorous "intensive training": over 72 hours of intensive safety technology theory training, over 120 hours of hands-on equipment disassembly and assembly practice, over 20 troubleshooting case studies, and strict high-altitude operation simulation assessments. This strict entry and exit mechanism ensures that certified personnel are truly competent for safe operation under complex working conditions.
2. Building an Industry Talent Pool
Shenxi Machinery has invested heavily in building a 3,000-square-meter vocational training center, forming a three-in-one model of "classroom teaching + practical training + on-site observation."
At the practical technical level, the center is equipped with a full range of training equipment and a self-developed BIM simulation system, capable of simulating extreme conditions such as typhoons and lightning strikes. Trainees not only learn operation but also master comprehensive skills such as mechanical calculations, electrical principles, and structural inspection, becoming multi-skilled technical backbones.
At the safety standardization level, the center creatively introduces "accident case review." The center has established a database of over 500 typical accidents, using VR technology to allow trainees to "experience" the moment of an accident, making safety standards a muscle memory. Participating companies have seen an average decrease in accident rates of over 65%.
In terms of industry-education integration, Shenxi Machinery has jointly established a "Modern Apprenticeship" base with five institutions, including Wuxi Vocational and Technical College, training over 200 students annually. Senior technicians from the company serve as part-time instructors, and outstanding graduates are given priority access to the after-sales service network, achieving a seamless connection between education and employment.
3. From Enterprise Standards to Industry Norms Shenxi Machinery spearheaded the revision of GB/T 19155-2017, the standard for "Suspended Platforms for High-Altitude Operations." Over three years, 12 patented technologies were selflessly contributed to the industry's public standard, boosting product safety by 30% and, for the first time, including "operator qualification certification" as a mandatory clause.
"Participating in the formulation of national standards requires transcending corporate interests and thinking from an industry-wide perspective," revealed the technical director. Shenxi proactively lowered its own product parameters at a review meeting to improve industry compatibility, earning widespread respect from peers.
Currently, Shenxi plans to upgrade its certification station to a "National-Level Public Training Base for High-Altitude Operation Machinery" and establish talent credit files in conjunction with industry associations. Products can be replicated, but a talent system and the power to set standards cannot—this is Shenxi's core competitiveness. The ultimate value of a company lies not in market share, but in the public value it creates for the progress of the industry—this is the vision and responsibility that industry leaders should have.
